The workshop will commence at 9:00am and conclude at 5:00pm at Carbon Nexus (Building Nj), Deakin Waurn Ponds, 75 Pigdons Rd, Waurn Ponds.
Carbon Nexus is pleased to announce a one-day pre-conference workshop covering an introduction to all aspects of carbon fibre production. The workshop will feature a combination of classroom learning and hands-on equipment operation. The hands-on activities will be performed on the Carbon Nexus Research Line, capable of processing 1-8 tows of carbon fibre from 0.5k to 320k.
- Overview of carbonisation processing, from PAN precursor to packaged carbon fibre

- Introduction to operational safety
- Line preparation procedures
- Normal start-up and shut-down procedures
- Emergency shut-down procedures
- Quality management systems
A$1,500 per person for the one-day workshop. We are not able to offer discounts for students. Lunch will be provided for workshop attendees.
Due to the hands-on nature of this workshop, places are limited to a maximum of 15 people only. Book early to secure a place at the workshop. Places will be allocated on a “first-come first-served” basis, so an early booking is essential.
